There’s never been a more exciting time to join City of Doncaster Council.

Doncaster is the UK’s best-connected location with a vibrant urban centre, a thriving arts and cultural scene, sport and leisure attractions, wonderful green spaces and a fascinating heritage.  Anyone joining our council can look forward to being part of a confident and ambitious organisation where employees can expand their knowledge and skills in a dynamic, creative, and nurturing environment while truly making a difference to the communities we serve.

City of Doncaster Council has made a firm commitment to tackling the Climate Crisis by implementing a strategy aiming to achieve Net Zero Carbon by 2040. Whilst this will be a challenging target, we have several ongoing initiatives aimed at reducing emissions, and a drive to implement these improvements across the city.

The Sustainability Project Officer will contribute to Doncaster’s Net Zero Carbon target by developing and delivering electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across the city, providing project coordination and technical support across a number of projects within the Sustainability Unit’s Built Environment Team. As the officer supporting these projects you have a crucial role in the delivery of EV charging projects funded by the Governments Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) Scheme. This will involve building relationships with private Charge Point Operators (CPO), reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), collating and sharing project learnings with the funding support body, collating, analysing and presenting data, and providing administration support to the project teams.

To succeed in this role, you must be well-organised, hardworking and flexible with experience of providing project support in a service with high demands. We are looking for a conscientious team member with an interest in the environment and a strong drive to deliver change, that can communicate confidently with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

In return for your hard work and dedication, we can offer you the chance to be part of a great team dedicated to ensuring that all people in Doncaster thrive. You will also have access to a variety of attractive employee benefits including competitive leave entitlement, local government pension scheme and access to a range of staff discount and flexible benefits schemes. Visit our Working in Doncaster – City of Doncaster Council page to find out more.

Shortlisting will take place week commencing 5th August and it is anticipated that interviews will be held on week commencing 19th August.
