At Laing O’Rourke, we are shaping a more sustainable future, and this role sits at the heart of our sustainability efforts. As a Sustainability Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in managing sustainability data, supporting leadership teams, and ensuring the seamless execution of key processes. Our Sustainability Team is structured around three key areas: Social Value, Carbon Solutions, and Environmental Sustainability—giving you valuable exposure to all aspects of sustainability and excellent opportunities for career growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Management: Use tools like Excel and Power BI to track, manipulate, and report data. Create dashboards and generate reports for KPIs.
  • Problem Solving: Take the initiative to identify and solve problems and contribute ideas to improve processes. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and other business functions, confidently communicating data and insights.
  • Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information discreetly and with integrity.
  • Systems Management: Use systems like Thrive, Intellects, and Coins to manage data and track sustainability performance.
  • Team Support: Assist with meeting agendas, reports, and coordinating training and events.

About You:

  • Data Skills: Strong experience with Excel and Power BI – comfortable with large data sets and reporting. Multiverse Data Apprentice Level 3 or equivalent is desirable.
  • Initiative & Problem-Solving: A proactive thinker who takes ownership and identifies areas for improvement.
  • Attention to Detail: A natural perfectionist when it comes to data accuracy and reporting.
  • Communication: Confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Discretion: Professional in handling confidential information.
  • Experience: Some background in data analysis, reporting, or systems (Excel, Power BI).
