Overview

We have a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented sustainability professional to join our team in Central Bristol. We need a sustainability consultant to join our team to support the delivery of commercial and domestic energy assessments, sustainability assessments, and decarbonisation strategies for new build and retrofit projects. You will help to deliver complex projects and nurture client relationships.

With a strong pipeline of work, we are currently involved in the delivery of a number of large projects throughout the UK. You will be joining a highly professional, growth focused, extremely motivated, dynamic team who are passionate about making a difference.

About You

  • You have energy modelling experience within the built environment sector.
  • You bring expertise (with a degree in engineering / architecture, and experience in the field) and a passion for creating sustainable solutions.
  • You are a good communicator and relish being part of a dynamic, fast growing team.
  • You have a true passion for sustainability and the built environment.

Desired Experience

The successful candidate must demonstrate their understanding of and experience with a selection of the following:

  • Modelling a range of building types using IES or Design Builder.
  • Building Regulations Part L assessments using IES and Elmhurst (or similar)
  • Developing energy and carbon strategies
  • In-Use energy modelling and assessment
  • Part O – Dynamic modelling for thermal comfort assessments and overheating risk assessments
  • Passivhaus methodology
  • Appreciation of broader sustainability issues, such as; sustainability governance and reporting, sustainability strategies, climate change adaptation, behaviour change, etc.
  • OCDEA (SAP) experience
  • Retrofit Assessment / Coordination or Designer experience

Key Duties

  • Building performance simulation and energy related workstreams, using a range of modelling approaches, tools and techniques.
  • Developing energy strategies with our clients to lead sustainability innovation on a series of developments.
  • Follow internal processes and help develop new processes and internal working procedures.
  • Contributing to the day-to-day operations of the team.
  • Supporting the development of holistic Sustainability Strategies, where necessary.
  • Developing and maintaining key client relationships.
