The Fidelis Partnership is a leading privately-owned, Bermuda-based Managing General Underwriter, which, through its subsidiaries, is a global underwriter of property, bespoke and specialty insurance and reinsurance products. The Fidelis Partnership is one of the largest Managing General Underwriters globally and its operations also include outwards reinsurance, claims handling, exposure management and portfolio analytics. The Fidelis Partnership also sponsors and incubates specialist MGAs through its Pine Walk platform. The Fidelis Partnership is separately owned and managed from the ownership and management of Fidelis Insurance Group.

The role

You will be an essential member of the Sustainability team, supporting the implementation of The Fidelis Partnership’s sustainable underwriting framework. Your focus will be on tasks related to the day-to-day ESG review process, including research and data collection to inform underwriting decisions.

Key accountabilities

  • Key initial responsibility will be review of underwriting risks against sustainable underwriting guidelines (including research as well as writing up of recommendations)
  • Be involved in collating, verifying, manipulating and presenting ESG-relevant data to support internal reporting (e.g. monthly and quarterly management updates) as well as public disclosures (e.g. for Poseidon Principles or investor presentations)
  • Support on drafting annual sustainability reports and regulatory disclosures.
  • Support on technical implementation of ESG tools (e.g. refining ESG tools over time into a more integrated platform)
  • Support Head of Sustainability as required on other ESG-related tasks (e.g. employee engagement initiatives through the Green Team)

Skills & experience

  • Relevant university degree and ideally 1-2 years of work experience.
  • Knowledge of (re)insurance essential, with prior experience in the industry a plus (Lloyd’s/London Market/specialty insurance/reinsurance)
  • Strong interest in sustainability.
  • Passion for data with strong skills in interpreting, cleaning, manipulating and visualising data.
  • Excel, Power BI and Powerpoint skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, agile development environment.
  • Not essential as pre-requisite but will be key to the role: Familiarity with key initiatives and standards such as TCFD/TNFD, PCAF, GFANZ.
  • Optional albeit beneficial: Basic coding skills.
