The Team You Will Join
The Income Sustainability Research team provides dedicated research, impact reporting and sustainability expertise within Fixed Income at MetLife Investment Management (MIM). This entails developing, building and maintaining specific sustainable strategies, impact reporting, engagement, and broader research and reporting on ESG issues. The team forms a dedicated resource within Fixed Income. The Analyst will report to the head of sustainability research and will contribute to the team’s broader work, with a specific focus on researching issuers and investment opportunities for fixed income portfolios.

The Analyst is responsible for researching issuers and building sustainability expertise in their sectors of focus, contributing to other team activities related to maintaining sustainable investment portfolios and assisting with the production of sustainability reporting.

How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)
- Develop sector sustainability expertise and conduct qualitative sustainability research and analysis of issuers and investment opportunities for fixed income portfolios
- Support the production of sustainability impact reports
- Conduct quantitative sustainability analysis of issuers and portfolios using in-house and third-party data sources
- Represent the team’s work with internal stakeholders
- You’ll collaborate closely with the fixed income sustainability team, portfolio managers, traders and credit analysts, as well as, sustainability teams in other asset classes in an environment where every contribution is respected, and every perspective is heard.
What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)
- Experience or education in a combination of sustainability research, investment management or other relevant fields
- Keen interest in sustainable finance, including ongoing and emerging themes and regulatory frameworks
- Understanding of GHG emissions measurement and reporting frameworks, and ability to conduct analysis of large datasets
- High level of critical and logical thinking, and strong written and verbal communications skills
